The ground's high limestone walls give the garden a dramatic boundary, as well as providing a sheltered environment for fruit trees and vines. Guests are welcome to use any part of the garden.

As well as around 30 apple trees, there are meadow flowers, cherry trees, climbing roses, yew and box hedges & vines. There is a spring fed pond, originally the village laundry, and a deep but safe well.

Bats, owls, herons, hedgehogs chickens & geese are all frequent visitors / residents.
